Composed and hand-knotted entirely with natural, untreated, or colored stones. Composition: 108 natural stones of 0.315" (8 mm), ultra-resistant waxed thread, steel. The stones used are natural, not pastes or synthetic stones. Beware of imitations, especially for the rare malachite!

You can also have it shorter! Traditionally, a mala is composed of 108 beads, but it can also be made shorter; the important rule to follow is that they are multiples of nine. A shorter mala with 8 mm beads allows for easier bead counting during meditation and is also easier to wear as it is lighter than the classic "full mala" of 108 beads with 8 mm.
